N307MM

N307MM, registered to Michael Muratore in Holbrook, NY, making two passes over my house this morning, at 6:00 am and 6:19 am.

Brookhaven Airport should not be allowing planes to fly out of the airport before working hours, especially not for joyrides. This is a perfect illustration of why the airport needs stronger regulation or should be shut down.

As you can see on FlightAware, Muratore flew his plane for half an hour, from Brookhaven to the South Fork of Long Island, and then back. So basically a morning joyride.

What’s even more concerning is that Muratore has a history of bad flying. In 2008, Muratore crashed his plane into a runway in Bayport. The NTSB determined that Muratore was at fault for “failure to stop the airplane within the available runway after touchdown.” Now this person is flying over residential areas.

This is a very brief audio clip of the plane.

It had already passed by the time I was able to record so the sound is more distant, but as you can hear, still loud. N307MM is the equivalent of that annoying person who drives his car around the neighborhood at night without a muffler.
