N8421J

Last year, the FAA began to allow aircraft owners to keep their registration information private. N8421J is such a plane with its flight information and registration details hidden from sights like FlightAware. While this new FAA policy protects the privacy of aircraft owners, it does not protect the privacy of the people living below. These small propeller planes, which often fly at 1,000 feet or lower altitudes, are not very different from drones in terms of their potential for violating people’s privacy, and people are rightly concerned when these aircraft are doing loops over their backyards when they are in their bathing suits or just trying to enjoy the outdoors in peace.
